Steel hulls and the metal parts fitted to boats made from Fibreglass or Wood can reacting with water and corrode
Some corrode because they are made from poor materials but the most common causes are Galvanic and Stray Current Corrosion.
I can test your boat whilst it is in the water to see if it is suffering excessive corrosion and recommend ways to put things right.
I recently tested a one year old Fibreglass Yacht to find out why the Alluminium saildrive leg was so badly corroded it needed replacing. We traced the fault to the Alternator!
